Unlocking the exclusive House Chest requires collecting all 16 Daedalian Keys scattered throughout Hogwarts Castle. These aren’t ordinary collectibles – they’re enchanted artifacts that lead you to special cabinets containing House Tokens.

The Daedalian Keys quest offers one of Hogwarts Legacy’s most rewarding cosmetic items. Each key you capture grants a House Token that contributes toward opening your Common Room’s special chest. The reward is a legendary-quality robe showcasing your House colors and emblem, making it perfect for transmogrification.

Unlike standard collectibles, these keys actively move and require following them to their destination cabinets. This creates a dynamic treasure hunt that takes you through rarely-visited areas of the castle.

To begin The Daedalian Keys sidequest, locate student Nellie Oggspire behind the tree in Transfiguration Courtyard. After agreeing to assist her, the quest markers will guide you to your first key encounter.

The cabinet minigame requires precise timing: wait for the key to cross the cabinet’s center, then quickly press the interaction button to capture it. Success opens the cabinet and awards one House Token.

After completing the tutorial, fast-travel to your Common Room and deposit the first token in the House Chest. Return to Nellie to complete this phase, after which remaining keys lose their quest markers, requiring systematic exploration.

Transfiguration Courtyard – Enter the doorway adjacent to the fast travel point and ascend the staircase. The enchanted key hovers near the impressive rhinoceros skeleton exhibit.

Transfiguration Classroom (Staircase) – From the teleportation spot, examine the substantial wooden portal on your left. Passing through reveals the key beside the stairwell, which then ascends to the upper landing where its cabinet awaits.

Transfiguration Classroom (Dragon Statue) – From the previous location, descend the steps to discover the cabinet. The key positions itself just beneath the landing platform, directly facing the majestic dragon sculpture.

Transfiguration Classroom (Cellar) – Proceed through the corridor beyond the dragon statue until reaching the cellar areas. Track the key downward into the basement chamber containing its destination cabinet.

Grand Staircase Tower – Spot the key suspended before multiple portraits just prior to reaching the highest Symbol Door Puzzle. Remain near the balustrades until it descends toward the cabinet positioned beside another Symbol Door Puzzle, conveniently located above the Grand Staircase teleportation point.

Grand Staircase – Advance forward from the fast travel location and inspect the large entrance on your left. Both key and cabinet reside in the connecting chamber that links to Viaduct Courtyard.

Great Hall (Fireplace) – The key positions itself adjacent to the left-side fireplace. It then flies toward the cabinet situated in the compact alcove adjacent to the Floo Flames location.

Great Hall (Garden) – From the fast-travel spot, proceed through the substantial doors on your right to access the garden area. Traverse the arched passageway to locate the key, which maneuvers erratically before ultimately heading to the rear-left section cabinet. This location neighbors the doorway leading to the Sept chamber (the crimson room featuring stellar motifs).

Library – The key situates itself between several bookshelves, with its corresponding cabinet positioned near the Floo Flames teleportation point.

Central Hall (Greenhouse Entrance) – Turn rightward at the statue. As you approach the verdant portal to the Greenhouses, glance left to spot the key. It will traverse to Central Hall’s opposite side toward an alcove containing a Symbol Door Puzzle.

Central Hall (Marble Steps) – Rather than proceeding toward the statue, ascend the staircase. You should observe the large doors leading to Viaduct Courtyard. The key hides behind the marble staircase on your right, then returns to the main stairwell from your arrival direction.

Potions Classroom – Pass through the doorway to view the key positioned before the classroom entrance. It then descends the spiral staircase to reach the cabinet at the bottom level.

Faculty Tower (Staircase) – This area requires finishing The Caretaker’s Lunar Lament, the primary mission granting Alohomora. This spell provides exclusive Faculty Tower access. From the fast travel location, enter Faculty Tower and climb the steps. The key appears before a Symbol Door Puzzle, then flies downward to the cabinet below.

Faculty Tower (Clock Gears) – From the previously mentioned position, continue ascending the spiral stairway until reaching the summit. You’ll find the cabinet here. For the key, traverse the adjacent hallway leading to the substantial clock tower mechanism. The key emerges and returns to the cabinet.

Clock Tower Courtyard – Upon spawning, unlock the gatehouse door on the left side. Proceed upward along the steps to observe the key positioned before an elaborate door. It then ascends another staircase set where the cabinet positions itself.

Alternative access exists via Hospital Wing fast travel point, then descending the wooden framework where the large clock gears operate.
