According to Serebii.net’s Twitter announcement, Japanese media previews have confirmed specific technical machines previously unavailable in Scarlet & Violet. The expansion will introduce five significant TMs: Grassy Glide for priority grass-type attacks, Burning Jealousy that damages opponents with stat boosts, Lash Out which increases power when the user’s stats are lowered, Poltergeist that utilizes the opponent’s held item, and the returning classic Toxic for guaranteed poison infliction.
Beyond battle enhancements, The Teal Mask expands character personalization with additional clothing selections, diverse hairstyle options, and expanded picnic supplies available exclusively at the Kitakami Center vendor. Players will also gain the ability to customize their picnic experience by rearranging furniture placement around the picnic table.
The Ogre Oustin’ cooperative mini-game presents players with three challenge tiers—Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced—where successful completion rewards participants with Mochi items alongside valuable Tera Shards. This activity supports multiplayer collaboration for increased efficiency.
Additional gameplay enhancements include new consumable items that accelerate Pokemon experience gain during battles. The Roto Stick—essentially a Pokemon-themed selfie accessory—enables trainers to select musical tracks that prompt unique creature reactions, then capture and share these moments with fellow players.
Player Strategies and Optimization
For competitive battlers, the new TMs present significant strategic opportunities. Grassy Glide provides grass-type priority on Grassy Terrain, making it exceptional for speed control. Burning Jealousy perfectly counters opponents relying on stat boosts, while Lash Out becomes devastating after your Pokemon suffers stat reductions. Poltergeist offers ghost-type coverage against opponents who forget to consume their held items, and Toxic’s return enables reliable poison stacking strategies.
When tackling the Ogre Oustin’ mini-game, prioritize team composition with balanced type coverage. The Advanced difficulty requires coordinated team strategies—consider bringing Pokemon with area-of-effect moves to handle multiple targets simultaneously. For optimal Tera Shard farming, the Intermediate difficulty often provides the best time-to-reward ratio, though Advanced offers greater yields for skilled teams.
A common mistake players make is overlooking the new customization options at Kitakami Center. Visit early to unlock additional self-expression through hairstyles and clothing that may provide psychological advantages in online interactions. The picnic rearrangement feature isn’t merely cosmetic—optimal chair placement can streamline your Pokemon care routine.
The experience-boosting items work exceptionally well when combined with Lucky Eggs for maximum leveling efficiency. Reserve these for Pokemon that require significant investment or when preparing new team members for competitive play. The Roto Stick’s song selection feature has hidden depth—certain musical tracks trigger unique animations from specific Pokemon species, creating exceptional photo opportunities.
