Complete guide to League’s 2025 Season of Noxus with new map mechanics, boot upgrades, and strategic insights
Release Date and Patch Overview
League of Legends ushers in the revolutionary Season of Noxus with patch 2025.S1.1, marking the most substantial Summoner’s Rift transformation in years. This update introduces comprehensive gameplay shifts that will redefine competitive strategies across all skill levels.
The transition to 2025 brings not just visual enhancements but fundamental mechanical changes including the Noxus-themed map environment, complete boots system overhaul centered around Feats of Strength mechanics, the introduction of Atakhan as a new jungle objective, and significant teleport functionality revisions.
Unlike previous seasonal updates that primarily focused on cosmetic changes for esports events, the Noxus map represents a foundational shift in gameplay dynamics. The visual overhaul extends beyond aesthetics to include new terrain geometry, environmental coloring schemes, and thematic music that immerses players in the Noxian experience.
This patch also confirms the arrival of Mel Medarda from the Arcane universe alongside visual enhancements for both LeBlanc and Vladimir, expanding the champion roster while refreshing existing characters.
Riot Games has implemented a new patch nomenclature system that clearly indicates seasonal timing. The 2025.S1.1 designation specifies the year, split number, and patch sequence, replacing the previous numerical system that lacked seasonal context.
Mark your calendars for January 9, 2025 when these transformative changes go live. While exact deployment times remain unspecified due to the new format implementation, expect regional maintenance during early morning hours to minimize player disruption based on historical patch deployment patterns.
Pro Tip: Prepare for the update by familiarizing yourself with current Noxus-themed champions and their playstyles, as the map changes may create favorable conditions for these characters.
Atakhan: The New Jungle Objective
The Season of Noxus introduces Atakhan, Bringer of Ruin as a game-changing neutral objective that spawns at 20 minutes, creating new strategic dimensions for mid-to-late game team compositions.
Atakhan’s spawn location dynamically adjusts based on early game performance, appearing on the map side with the highest kill/death count by the 14-minute mark. In passive games with minimal combat, damage taken becomes the determining factor for spawn positioning.
When Atakhan emerges, he creates an arena with additional terrain elements while scattering Blood Roses across the battlefield. These collectibles provide permanent stat enhancements and experience distribution to your entire team, creating persistent advantages beyond the initial objective capture.
Ruinous Atakhan manifests in high-action games where both teams consistently engage in combat. Securing the takedown on this variant rewards the executing team with bonus Blood Petals and generates additional Rose spawns in the surrounding area. The Ruinous version amplifies all Epic monster rewards by 25%—including those already claimed—and populates his pit with multiple Blood Rose plants for extended farming opportunities.
Voracious Atakhan appears in slower-paced matches and presents immediate tactical threats. This variant grants powerful short-term advantages including:
False Life: For 150 seconds, the first lethal instance instead triggers a 5.5-second Stasis effect followed by teleportation to your fountain. The would-be killer receives 1 Blood Petal and 100 Gold compensation
- Your team permanently gains 40 bonus gold on champion takedowns
- Remember this applies to takedowns rather than solo kills. Full team participation in an elimination distributes 200 bonus gold across your roster

Atakhan appears only once per match, but Blood Roses continue spawning throughout the game, frequently generating on champion death locations to maintain objective relevance.
Blood Roses deliver substantial combat enhancements:
Each collected petal grants 25 team experience (scaling up to 100% based on collector’s K/D/A—lower ratios provide more XP) and 1 to 0.33 Adaptive Force. Primary collection occurs through attacking Blood Roses (large variants drop 6 petals, small ones yield 3), though additional acquisition methods include Atakhan interactions
Objective spawn timers receive significant adjustments: Rift Herald now appears at 16 minutes, Atakhan at 20 minutes, and Baron Nashor at 25 minutes, creating distinct phases for each major neutral objective.
Strategic Insight: Coordinate with your jungler to track early game kill differentials by 14 minutes to predict Atakhan’s spawn location. Teams with aggressive early game compositions should prioritize creating kill pressure on their preferred side of the map.
Turret and Minion Changes
Structural defenses undergo significant recalibration to improve gameplay pacing and strategic diversity in lane phases and sieging scenarios.
Turret fortification decreased: 85% >>> 50%
- This represents the damage reduction turrets receive while armor plates remain active

Nexus turrets now respawn after 3 minutes, preventing backdoor strategies and enabling more late-game comeback opportunities
Turret heat up: +40% per shot >>> +50% per shot (250% max)
Turret heat up duration: 3 seconds >>> 5 seconds
- This adjustment means turret damage escalates more rapidly and maintains increased damage output for extended periods

Minion statistics receive comprehensive adjustments that impact wave management, last-hitting patterns, and scaling dynamics throughout matches.
Melee minion HP: 477-1300 at minute 1-38 >>> 465-1500 at minute 1-48
Melee minion Armor: 0-16 at minute 1-38 >>> 0-20 at minute 1-42
Melee minion AD: 12-80.2 at minute 1-38 >>> 11-80 + 2% lane minion current HP at minute 1-42
Ranged minion HP: 296-485 at minute 1-38 >>> 284-600 at minute 1-56
Ranged minion AD: 24.5-120.5 at minute 1-38 >>> 21-125 + 4% lane minion current HP at minute 1-45
First cannon minion: Wave 3 >>> Wave 4
Cannon minion HP: 912-2900 at minute 2-38 >>> 920-2960 at minute 2:30-38

Cannon minion AD scaling stops: 7 days >>> 90 minutes
Super minion HP scaling stops: 150 minute >>> 90 minutes
Super minion AD: 230 + 5 per 1.5 minutes >>> 215 + 5 per 1.5 minutes
Super minion AD scaling stops: 300 minutes >>> 90 minutes
Minion XP range: 1400 >>> 1500
Minion-turret and minion-champion damage: 50% >>> 55%
Ambient gold start time: 1:50 >>> 1:40. Functionally everyone has 20.4 more gold
These modifications represent calculated adjustments to minion defensive and offensive scaling parameters. The most notable implications include:
Melee minions gain moderate durability increases while ranged minions become more vulnerable until late-game phases. Statistical progression for minions generally extends further into match duration compared to previous systems
Super minions receive slight power reductions to decrease ending pressure
Experience acquisition range for minion kills expands
Gold generation initiates at 1:40 instead of 1:50, providing earlier economic advantages
Common Mistake to Avoid: Don’t overcommit to early tower dives with the reduced fortification—the faster and longer-lasting turret heat-up can quickly turn aggressive plays into disastrous trades.
Feats of Strength Boots Overhaul
Feats of Strength introduces a revolutionary boots enhancement system centered around three critical objectives: securing first blood, destroying the initial tower, and being first to eliminate three epic monsters. Achieving any two of these milestones unlocks powerful boot upgrade purchases, with the requirement of owning two legendary items beforehand.
Additionally, reaching the Feats of Strength threshold instantly enhances all boot types with Triumphant bonuses before accessing tier 3 upgrades. These immediate enhancements include:
Triumphant Berserker’s Greaves: +5% Attack Speed
Triumphant Ionian Boots of Lucidity: +5 Haste
Triumphant Sorcerer’s Shoes: +4 Magic Penetration
Triumphant Plated Steelcaps: +5 Armor
Triumphant Mercury’s Treads: +5 Magic Resistance
Triumphant Boots of Swiftness: +5 Movement Speed
Triumphant Synchronized Souls: +5 Movement Speed
The complete Noxian boot upgrade paths provide specialized enhancements for different playstyles and roles:

Quality of Life and Bug Fixes
The Season of Noxus brings substantial quality-of-life improvements alongside numerous bug resolutions to enhance overall gameplay experience.
Adjusted Annie’s Q. Q used to only refund the mana cost and half of its cooldown if it actually killed the target. Now, Annie’s Q will refund the mana cost and half the cooldown even if the target dies while the projectile is mid-flight towards the target.
