“My fascination with entertainment and media began in childhood,” she revealed to Dexerto. “I always envisioned myself working in this industry, whether operating behind scenes or performing on camera. This passion evolved throughout my development and culminated in competitive speaking pursuits during high school and university.”
Competitive speaking represents a specialized yet cherished component of American secondary education for numerous students. The discipline encompasses diverse formats including political debating, poetic interpretation, and comedic presentations. Discovering Esports: An Unexpected Career Path

Though she had gamed during childhood, “limited video game access for various reasons” prevented her from exploring this interest, even recreationally. Suddenly, she discovered an industry where gaming enthusiasm and entertainment career aspirations could merge seamlessly.
Like many esports aspirants, she began without industry connections and minimal understanding of network development. Inspired by broadcasting icon Eefje ‘Sjokz’ Depoortere from EU LCS coverage, she initially targeted hosting roles.
“I followed the conventional path of streaming multiple games while documenting my League progression from beginner to level thirty,” she detailed, “concurrently accepting freelance assignments as video editor, speech instructor, childcare provider—whatever opportunities arose.”
Streaming and miscellaneous employment provided temporary breathing space to strategize her esports entry. She enrolled in graduate communication studies, viewing this as a chance to “develop a professional portfolio and access creative projects.”
Fortunately, her graduate advisor possessed entertainment industry experience, offering extensive professional broadcasting practice and portfolio development. During her master’s program, she gained initial League broadcasting exposure through desk hosting for the NA Challenger series.

Building Broadcast Experience: Challenger to Hi-Rez
“I initially demonstrated personality and creativity through streaming, producing various content including a humorously amateur League music video,” she recalled, “and the Challenger league organizer noticed this material and decided to take a chance.” She advanced through the challenger circuit alongside future LCS standouts including Eric ‘Licorice’ Ritchie and Kieran ‘Allorim’ Logue, connecting with industry professionals like Daniel ‘dGon’ Gonzales.
“This provided excellent broadcasting skill development while continuing my education,” she added. “That experience transitioned into working with the broadcast team for independent card game Duelyst, marking my inaugural casting assignment.”
Card game commentary demands substantially different capabilities than League casting, yet it offered valuable introduction to esports broadcasting she hadn’t previously contemplated. The Duelyst production operated at such modest scale that “distinct host and caster positions didn’t exist, so broadcast participation necessitated learning commentary skills.”
This environment sparked her passion for play-by-play commentary.
Another casting opportunity emerged through a competition organized by developer Hi-Rez. This reality-television formatted, eight-episode series titled The Caster prompted LeTigress to immediately submit video auditions upon learning about contestant recruitment.
“The competition required casting all Hi-Rez titles including Smite, Paladins, and Hand of the Gods. Among ten participants, I ultimately won the series and received a broadcasting position with Hi-Rez,” she stated. “They presented options between on-camera and off-camera roles, and I selected on-camera. That decision fundamentally shaped my play-by-play development.”

Winning the competition earned her on-stage interviewing opportunities at the 2018 SMITE World Championship finals. According to Esports Charts, the championship peaked at approximately 100,000 Twitch viewers. This led to Academy broadcast appearances and eventually LCS opportunities: initially as interviewer and finally in 2022, after extensive development, as play-by-play commentator.
Her LCS casting debut occurred January 21, when she commentated the Group B match between Evil Geniuses and Dignitas alongside Mark ‘MarkZ’ Zimmerman. While she had previously cast Academy games, this represented her inaugural appearance on North America’s premier League stage.
