Complete Honkai Star Rail 3.6 update guide with character strategies, event tips, and optimization advice
New Characters and Combat Mechanics

HoYoverse has launched the Honkai Star Rail 3.6 update on September 24, 2025, introducing substantial new content under the title “Back to Earth in Evernight.” This comprehensive patch brings two entirely new playable characters to the roster alongside multiple engaging events that players can participate in. Additionally, the narrative continues with fresh Trailblaze missions expanding upon the Amphoreus storyline that began with version 3.0.
Evernight represents a unique DPS archetype centered around summoning mechanics. She calls forth the memosprite companion “Evey” to fight alongside her while amplifying damage output for all allied memosprites. Activating her Ultimate ability transitions her into the “Darkest Riddle” state, providing multiple combat enhancements simultaneously. When her “Memoria” resource reaches specific thresholds, “Evey” immediately initiates actions while consuming its entire HP pool to unleash powerful attacks.
Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae fills a defensive support role with distinctive summoning capabilities. He can deploy a “Souldragon” guardian for a single ally, granting them substantial ATK bonuses. When properly enhanced, this summoned entity executes Follow-up ATK sequences targeting all enemies during combat turns. Furthermore, Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae provides stackable protective Shields to multiple team members through various ability activations.
Strategic Tip: Evernight excels in teams with multiple summon-based characters, while Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae provides exceptional protection for fragile hypercarry units. Consider pairing them with existing summon-focused characters for maximum synergy.
Story Content and Exploration
Note: Amphoreus Trailblaze Missions can be experienced in advance through the “Finality’s Vision: Leap of Trailblaze” function.
Struck by the power of “Destruction,” the Grove of Epiphany was corroded by the golden blood seeping from the giant tree. Its branches and leaves turned gold, and a searing radiance now blazes with blinding intensity.
The deepest ruin in Amphoreus, the great tomb where the pasts of “all worlds” are buried. Stripped of its “mythical” embellishments, the colossal storage matrix flickers incessantly, recording an unknown past.
Remember that egg from the Dromas Workshop? Looks like it’s about to hatch soon…
Progression Strategy: Complete the main Amphoreus storyline first before exploring side content, as many events and areas reference narrative developments that could contain spoilers. The Finality’s Vision feature allows previewing content but may disrupt story flow if used excessively.
Limited-Time Events and Rewards
What? Origami Bird and Seal Slammers are doing a collab remake, with brand-new game modes?
Note: This content can be experienced in advance through the Finality’s Vision function. It’s recommended that Trailblazers experience this content after finishing the Trailblaze Mission “Amphoreus — Witch’s Mirrored Reversal.”
Kate from the Bloodhound Family found a strange dream bubble and invites you to join a trial called “Try-Not-to-Laugh Challenge.” Needless to say, this must have something to do with the “Masked Fools”…
Note: This content can be experienced in advance through the Finality’s Vision function. Trailblazers are recommended to experience this content after completing the Trailblaze Mission “Penacony — A Walk Among the Tombstones.”
Event Priority Tip: Focus on the free character acquisition event first, as Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae provides exceptional defensive utility. The Origami Bird collaboration offers unique game modes, while the Try-Not-to-Laugh Challenge delivers memorable interactions with familiar characters.
Endgame Content Updates
Anomaly Arbitration: Take on high-difficulty challenges to earn rewards including Lone Stardust, Interference Keys, Self-Modeling Resin, and limited-time avatar frames. Gameplay will be updated with future versions.
Treasures Lightward: Regular game modes Apocalyptic Shadow, Pure Fiction, and Forgotten Hall: Memory of Chaos will be refreshed alternately. For more details, please see below:
Apocalyptic Shadow: Gale of Netherveil

Endgame Strategy: Anomaly Arbitration represents the pinnacle of challenge content, requiring fully built teams and strategic planning. The new relic sets provide specialized options for summon-based teams and defensive compositions. Use Interference Keys strategically to target specific substats when optimizing high-value relics.
Quality of Life Improvements
Common Mistake Avoidance: Don’t overlook the new team building tools – they can significantly reduce setup time for different content types. The improved relic recommendations now reflect actual player usage data, making them more reliable for character optimization.
