Call of Duty voice actor Jeff Leach dropped by sponsors following sexism allegations

Jeff Leach faces sponsor exodus and platform bans following serious misconduct allegations

Sponsors Sever Ties Following Controversy

The gaming industry has witnessed a swift response to misconduct allegations against Jeff Leach, the voice actor behind Call of Duty’s Ghost character. Following the resurfacing of controversial clips, multiple corporate partners have severed ties with the Facebook Gaming streamer.

Activision Blizzard confirmed on May 10 they would no longer collaborate with Leach on future projects, removing him from his role as Ghost in the Call of Duty franchise.

Energy drink brand Sneak Energy took the most decisive action, terminating Leach’s ambassador contract immediately. “Our organization has zero tolerance for discriminatory behavior of any kind,” their statement read. “We regret any distress caused by our former ambassador’s actions.”

Leach’s former sponsorship deal with Sneak Energy has been terminated.

Chronology of Misconduct Allegations

The current controversy stems from two separate incidents spanning several years. In 2017, Twitch streamer Natalie ‘ZombiUnicorn’ Casanova reported Leach for harassment and sexist remarks, resulting in his permanent ban from the platform.

Recent allegations emerged when Facebook streamer NitroLukeDX shared compiled clips allegedly showing Leach making sexist comments. These videos prompted renewed scrutiny of Leach’s behavior across platforms.

Casanova has accused Leach of ongoing misgendering in addition to the original harassment claims.

Leach’s Defense and Legal Threats

In his May 7 livestream, Leach characterized the circulating clips as “edited character assassination” and announced plans for legal recourse. The streamer specifically targeted NitroLukeDX, who compiled and shared the controversial footage.

“These clips are being presented completely out of context,” Leach asserted. “My legal team is already preparing action against those responsible for this smear campaign.” His statements included direct threats toward NitroLukeDX, suggesting the controversy could “end” the fellow streamer’s career.

Broader Industry Implications

This incident highlights evolving standards for creator conduct in the gaming industry. Platforms and sponsors appear increasingly willing to sever ties with controversial figures, even those with established fanbases.

The simultaneous termination of both Leach and NitroLukeDX by Facebook Gaming suggests platforms may be adopting more neutral positions in creator disputes, rather than waiting for legal resolutions.
